100 years of Leica is 100 years of Photojournalism
The legendary Leica I camera is now in 2025 for 100 years on the market. It changed the history of photography and it was the beginning of modern photojournalism. Many of the photo icons burned in our memory were shot with a Leica. For this anniversary the LFI-Magazine published the book "100 Leica Stories"
In a preview the authors wrote: "100 years of photographic history: we are honouring the Leica camera as a technical masterpiece and a trusted companion to photographers across generations. From remarkable discoveries and groundbreaking milestones to compelling anecdotes and iconic images – this book encapsulates the spirit of Leica photography in a way that is informative, surprising, evocative and true to its legacy.".
I am privileged to be part of that project. One of the 100 stories in the book is about my Leica M2. I purchased the M2 in 1990 and worked with her for decades. After 30 years I found the pre-owner of my Leica M2 ... in Jerusalem.
How did it come? Well ...read the book.
